America’s Hidden Stories: Birth of Shadow Ops

Hosted by Catherine Herridge

In 1990, after a rescue attempt of the American hostages in Iran goes tragically wrong, President Carter secretly authorized a clandestine U.S. Army intelligence unit.  They were called the Field Operations Group (later renamed the Intelligence Support Activity).  The laid the foundation for some of America’s greatest enemy takedowns, including Noriega, Hussein, and Osama Bin Laden.  Now, through recently declassified documents and firsthand accounts, journalist Catherine Herridge reveals the origin story of this group of American shadow warriors.
